Josua Romano at Thunfest

Two weeks before, the Thun rock band Red Shoes played their last concert at the Hünegg Openair, 9 years after their first performance. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t see the band members live anymore. Most of them could already be seen again on this first day of Thunfest, some even on the main stage with their new projects. Especially frontman Josua seems to be very ambitious with his solo project.

After Josua Romano spent a long time in California/USA this early summer, he returned to Switzerland with new inspiration and songs. Recently he played several performances daily during the Paléo Festival week and thrilled the festivalgoers in Nyon on the Campfire Stage as singer/songwriter and entertainer.

Josua not only presented the two-day Thunfest programme in beautiful sunshine, under a bright blue sky, he also opened the Rathausplatz stage with his new solo project on the first evening of Thunfest. During a short set with guitar, harmonica and drum pedal he put the Thun audience in the right mood. His songs, which are in the genre of country/folk, were once quiet and enchanting, sometimes catchy. On the one hand “Jösu” played his own songs, on the other hand he also played some covers.

He asked himself in between, what would distinguish him from the many other singer/songwriters? In his opinion, this is the harmonica. But also by his charming nature, the good humor and his entertainer Qualities you must simply like him.
