Troubas Kater thrilled with street concert in Herzogenbuchsee

After a delicious dinner at restaurant Kreuz in Herzogenbuchsee, things soon started on the KKB Summer Stage – or at least next to it. The alley in front of the restaurant got blocked. The deckchairs were ready, in which the majority of the audience chilled and enjoyed the live music. The neighbors had also made themselves comfortable in their private lounge with an extra large beverage container. But not for too long: Troubas Kater know exactly how to pull the audience out of their chairs. Coming straight from the surprise concert at Hafenbar in Solothurn, the band from Bern continued with the second concert of the day at around 8:30 p.m.

What’s better than a Troubas Kater concert? A Troubas Kater street concert – and all that during a warm tropical summer evening. Pure anticipation! If you combine the best dialect word acrobatics with great rhythms and melodies, a lot of humor, ingenuity and spontaneity and combine this with comfort and cool drinks, a summer evening can hardly be more perfect ..

The first notes played and first words sung, frontman QC was not entirely satisfied at first. Something was wrong … The speaker on the right – left from him – didn’t seem to work at all. Oops, not plugged in … Well, after 1.5 years of pandemic and the extremely rare performances (e.g. Swiss Mountain Road Show), maybe the troubadours are a tiny bit out of practice? But that also showed that Troubas Kater weren’t playing a normal concert that evening, the front man assured. He also spontaneously selected the setlist from the songs that have been written down.

Troubas Kater told in their dialects stories of “Hassliebi” (love-hate), cows that might be horses after all, as well as “real heroes”. Tuba duos, trumpet solos and, of all things in the song “Mach Fähler” (make mistakes), a lyric hanger provided the best entertainment. But hey, just keep going. Just repeat the chorus again, then you come back in. It’ll be fine. However, the mood stayed high until the break.

After a short drink and rest break, the second part of the concert evening was just as imaginative and amusing. Where does QC always get the ideas for its freestyles or stories from? I’m definitely not the only one asking. Supported by the audience, they went from billiards to billionaire, from street concerts without air conditioning and finally to musicians who rescued children from the 13th floor …

The whole spectacle finally ended with the last two songs from the current album “Itz ifach nid abe luege” in the encore. But first Troubas Kater showed how to collect the collection creatively: For the slightly different “Slimm Shaddy” version, the band made the rounds through the audience equipped with collecting baskets and a twint code on the kettledrum. They went past the audience down the alley and back up over the restaurant terrace.

Keep an eye on Troubas Katers’ social media channels. Who knows, the band may be playing a spontaneous street concert near you this summer. Just as an extra tip 🙂
